A Beautiful Day in Old Town:
Celebrating the Main Street Spring Festival

There’s something special about springtime in Old Town Eureka — the streets come alive, neighbors reconnect, music fills the air, and local businesses shine in the heart of our community. This year’s Main Street Spring Festival was a joyful celebration of everything that makes Eureka so vibrant, creative, and welcoming.

During our annual Spring Festival families, friends, visitors, and longtime locals spent the day exploring downtown, enjoying sunshine, shopping local, and making memories together. With Mother’s Day right around the corner, the festival offered the perfect excuse to slow down, spend time together, and celebrate the people and places we love most.

Throughout Eureka Main Street, visitors wandered through sidewalk sales hosted by an incredible lineup of local shops and makers. From handmade jewelry and vintage treasures to natural body care, gifts, clothing, art, and locally crafted goods, there was truly something around every corner. Businesses including Belle Starr Clothing, Piccola, By Nieves Handmade Natural Body Care, Ciara’s Irish Shop, Living Doll Vintage Boutique & Gallery, Many Hands Gallery, Sisters Clothing Collective, Zumbido Gifts, and many more helped create a lively shopping experience that highlighted the unique spirit of Old Town Eureka.

Festivalgoers also enjoyed delicious bites and sweet treats throughout the day. Local favorites like Familia Coffee, Humboldt Bay Provisions, Taco Town Fruteria, and Buttercream Broomstick welcomed hungry visitors, while food trucks including Humboldt Bay Burger and El Salchichón kept the energy going with incredible street food and local flavor.

Music could be heard throughout the district as talented local performers took the stage at both the Gazebo Stage and Clarke Plaza. Andie Jayne and the Jimmie Lahman Band brought fantastic live music to the Gazebo Stage, while Daniel Nickerson & Julio Perdido and Dogbone kept the crowd entertained at Clarke Plaza. The sounds of live music drifting through Old Town created the perfect backdrop for a day built around community connection and celebration.

Families and kids found plenty of fun around every corner with giant games like Jenga, Connect Four, and cornhole bringing out everyone’s competitive side. Face painting and balloon art added even more excitement for younger attendees and helped create a playful, festival atmosphere all afternoon long.

One of the most inspiring parts of the day was the hands-on community art project hosted in Opera Alley by the Eureka Cultural Arts District, Ink People Center for the Arts, and Recology. Community members came together to help transform dumpsters into vibrant pieces of public art — a creative and meaningful reminder of how art can bring people together and brighten shared spaces.

The Main Street Spring Festival continues to grow each year, building on the energy and enthusiasm of past events while showcasing the creativity, collaboration, and local pride that make Eureka such a special place. Events like these are a reminder that supporting local businesses, artists, musicians, and organizations helps keep our downtown thriving.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, performed, volunteered, and helped make this year’s festival such a memorable success. We loved seeing Old Town filled with smiles, laughter, music, and community spirit all day long.

We’re already looking forward to the next celebration.
