Join us for Arts Alive, a monthly celebration of art, culture, and community in Old Town Eureka, held on the first Saturday of every month from 6–9 p.m.
Experience the energy of Old Town as galleries, museums, theaters, bars, and restaurants stay open late, filling the streets with art, live music, performances, and creative pop-ups. Stroll from space to space, meet local artists, and enjoy great food, drinks, and entertainment along the way.
Whether you’re a longtime art lover or just looking for a fun night out, Arts Alive is the perfect way to experience the creativity and charm of Eureka.

Great Pumpkin Hunt
Every fall, Downtown & Old Town Eureka comes alive with creativity and Halloween fun! Local businesses transform their storefronts into a festive pumpkin gallery, decorating and naming their own one-of-a-kind pumpkins.
Families can pick up a free Great Pumpkin Hunt entry form and map at the Eureka Welcome Center (108 F Street), then explore the district to find and identify each pumpkin. Complete the hunt and return your entry form to the Eureka Welcome Center to receive a fun prize!
Entry forms will be available October 24-31.
Downtown & Old Town Trick-or-Treat
Put on your costume and bring the family to Downtown & Old Town Eureka for an afternoon of Halloween fun! Trick-or-treaters can visit participating businesses throughout the district and fill their treat bags along the way.
Date: Saturday, October 31
Time: 2:00–4:00 PM
Check the participant list and plan your trick-or-treating route before you head out! Participating businesses will have a poster on display in their window.
Holiday Shop & Stroll
Get into the holiday spirit with an evening of festive shopping, twinkling storefronts, live music, sweet treats, and plenty of local holiday cheer in Downtown and Old Town Eureka.
Stroll from shop to shop, browse one-of-a-kind gifts, and discover something special around every corner. Enjoy in-store specials, seasonal treats, handcrafted goods, boutique finds, rare books, chocolates, and more as local businesses stay open late to make holiday shopping a little more merry.
Bring your friends, make a night of it, and shop local while soaking up the festive magic of Eureka.
Holiday Shopping Spree Drawing
The Holiday Shopping Spree Drawing is Downtown and Old Town Eureka's favorite way to celebrate local businesses and reward the shoppers who love them. From Friday, November 13 through Monday, December 14, every purchase you make at a participating business is a chance to win.
Here's how it works: spend $10 or more at any participating Downtown or Old Town Eureka business and pick up an entry form right there in the store. Fill it out, drop it in, and you're in the running for one of three Holiday Shopping Spree prize packages, each built from gift cards donated by the very merchants you're supporting.
Santa Arrives in Old Town
Make some merry memories in Downtown & Old Town Eureka as Santa arrives in style aboard a Humboldt Bay Fire truck! Join us Friday, November 27, at the Gazebo at 2nd & F Streets. The holiday fun starts at 2 PM with music, face painting, and kids’ activities, followed by Santa’s big arrival at 2 PM. He’ll be visiting with families and spreading Christmas cheer until 4 PM.
Bring the little ones, grab your holiday wish list, and get ready for a festive afternoon filled with smiles, surprises, and holiday magic!
Snowball Drop
One of downtown's most beloved holiday traditions is back, and this year it's going to be bigger, louder, and more fun than ever. The Snowball Drop is a man-made blizzard right in the heart of the district, and you won't want to miss a single flake.
Here's how it works: hundreds of ping-pong ball "snowballs" are fired high into the air from a snowball cannon, raining down on waiting shoppers below. Each snowball displays a local Main Street business name, address, and a unique ball number. Catch one, and you've scored a prize, discount, gift, or giveaway from that business. It's the most exciting way to kick off your holiday shopping!
And for the little ones, the Gumball Drop runs alongside the main event. Colored ping-pong balls are launched first, reserved exclusively for kids, and each one can be redeemed for a special prize on the same day.
Winter Whimsy Quest
Winter Whimsy Quest invites families to explore Downtown and Old Town Eureka and discover creative holiday window displays at participating businesses. Pick up a map and entry form at the Eureka Welcome Center (108 F Street), find and identify each display, and return your completed form for a chance to win a prize. Participants can also vote for their favorite displays while enjoying a festive stroll and supporting local businesses.
Entry forms will be available on 12/5-14.
Holiday Window Display Contest
The Holiday Window Display Contest is a fun, friendly competition that turns Downtown and Old Town into a glittering, festive destination every holiday season. Local businesses dress up their storefronts, neighbors and visitors cast their votes, and the whole community gets to enjoy a walkable gallery of holiday creativity.
This year's theme is Season of Cheer — so let your imagination run wild with lights, color, and holiday spirit that stops shoppers in their tracks.
Taste of Main Street
Join us Thursday, October 1, from 5:00–8:00 PM for an evening of delicious bites, local flavors, live music, and Downtown and Old Town Eureka exploration.
Your $35 ticket includes appetizer-sized specialty offerings at participating restaurants, food producers, and food trucks throughout the Eureka Main Street District. Discover new favorites, revisit longtime favorites, and experience the local food and businesses that make Eureka special. Tickets are available for purchase online!

Annual Meeting
Connect with fellow businesses at the Eureka Main Street Annual Meeting as we celebrate the past year’s accomplishments, share updates on current initiatives, and look ahead to what’s next for Downtown and Old Town Eureka.
Eureka's 4th of July Festival
Eureka’s 4th of July Festival takes place along several blocks of Old Town. This year’s celebration will be bigger and more festive than ever, marking the 250th anniversary of American independence and the 170th anniversary of the City of Eureka.
The family-friendly festival features local vendors, food, crafts, kids’ activities, community booths, and live music on multiple stages throughout the day. The celebration continues into the evening with a fireworks show over Humboldt Bay at 10 p.m.

Eureka Summer Concert Series
The Eureka Summer Concert Series is a favorite of many and a fun time for all! Local and traveling bands are scheduled to play every Thursday from 6-8pm at Madaket Plaza for ten weeks throughout the summer season. This free event is family-friendly. You are encouraged to bring a chair, enjoy a tasty meal from one of the food trucks, and groove to the music!
